Teams Overview

BVRC is one of twenty three designated to British Riding Clubs Area 17. Geographically the area covers the central south of England, stretching from Petersfield in the East to Blandford and Purbeck in the West & includes the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands although the latter tend not to come to qualifiers. Each year inter club competitions are organised in Dressage (Winter, Summer and to Music), Show Jumping (Winter and Summer), Combined Training, Challenge (SJ plus XC) and Horse Trials. The winning teams, and often individuals, from these competitions and from all other Areas around Great Britain go forward to BRC National Riding Club Championships later in the year.

Juniors. Any member under 18 years old on 1st January of the current year is eligible to represent BVRC as a Junior at BRC Area Competitions, but as BVRC membership starts at 17 we rarely field a junior team at qualifiers.

More detailed information about the Championships, including dates and locations, can be found on the BRC website or by giving Susie Pool a ring (01980 671523). Area qualifier dates can be found on the Area 17 website

Team information can be found at 2017 Area Qualifier Details Part 1

Helpers
At every competition we are required to provide helpers to assist in running the event. If you are able to assist please get in touch with Susie or complete the 2017 BVRC Team Helpers Form.

The Winter Novice Championships for the Novice Indoor Show Jumping team and the Novice Dressage team now take place at Keysoe College at the end of March.

The Winter Intermediate Championships for the Intermediate Dressage team and individuals, and Intermediate Show Jumping team usually take place at Bury Farm, Bucks in early May.

The Festival of the Horse Championships for Combined Training & Challenge teams and individuals plus Challenge Pairs, usually take place at Aston Le Walls at the end of May.

The Horse Trials Championships usually take place at Swalcliffe in early August where the 80HT Championship is a One Day Event, the 90HT Championship is a long format 2 day event and the 100HT and 100+HT Championships are both long format 3 day events, so all (less the 80HT) include roads & tracks plus a steeplechase.
